St Albans School of Jewellery

Welcome

The St Albans School of Jewellery offers a range of jewellery making classes and courses to meet the diverse needs of all students… whether you are a complete novice or a student currently studying jewellery making and need a little extra guidance and technical help with your projects, the St Albans School of Jewellery has a class to suit you. The courses cover how to make jewellery using traditional and contemporary jewellery making techniques.

The classes at The St Albans School of Jewellery provide in depth tuition in jewellery making in a creative, friendly and inspiring environment. Students make rings, bangles, earrings, pendants, cufflinks, bracelets, the list is endless…. We are happy to advise prospective students as to which level best suits their individual skills and experience.

Each class is tutored by Martin Hopton and Tracy Furlong and class sizes are limited to seven students, ensuring that each student benefits from the full attention of the tutors.

We are very proud of our beautiful location and extremely well equipped workshop where we have individual benches for each student. The St Albans School of Jewellery is set in lovingly restored Old Dairy Barn set in beautiful Hertfordshire countryside just 10 minutes drive from the centre of the beautiful, historic market town of St Albans . The school is located within easy access from both the M1 and M25 motorways and for those travelling by train St Albans is only 20 minutes from London St Pancras.

Why not try a Sunday class or sign up for a course? Once you have started designing and making your own jewellery who knows where it will lead?!

Engagement Ring Workshop

Just a couple of months ago Matt set himself the goal of making a diamond engagement ring to propose to his Fiancée.

Although a complete novice to jewellery making Matt is a very hands on type… he was keen to get stuck in and experiment. After a couple of sessions of working with different metals, creating varied knot work and infinity inspired designs he was confident to start work on the actual ring for the proposal. A couple more sessions later and Matt was on the final stages of setting the diamond in place. Well Done Matt!
